As it happens, there's definitely a one step way of creating clip gain envelopes, because I keep doing it by accident. Unfortunately, I've no idea how to do it on purpose.

PT has also got clip gain. (so does Studio One) This is the most amazing feature ever. Once you have used this you will never want to do without it. It cuts down on automation a lot and I mean a lot.

PT is not years behind any DAW as some here think. In regards to clip gain it is a few years ahead in fact. As a teacher I have done three PT Avid courses and I found out a LOT about what PT can do. I almost switched but it is still too expensive. You still need to spend a further $700 to get the Production Tool Kit to make it worthwhile.

If you're a teacher, then why not pick up the educational version? It's only $300.

Actually, another cool feature with PT 10 is the click track (in a dedicated track of its own).

Sonar also has a per clip effects bin.  PT does not.  Of course PT has very good DAW notation and Sonar does not.

OMG... This horse is dead

I once knew a dead horse called Christopher.

He had beaten to death by irony and three sporran-free Scottish midgets.

It still gives me a lump in the throat just thinking about his last words....

"Oh neigh."

this horse was beaten to death so long ago there is only dust left.

is it just me?... I really dont care about PT, or how it compares to Sonar.

for my $0.02c, if you have PT and like it, great!..  if you have PT and even dont like it , but use it to make money, then thats great!..

But if you dont have it or dont want it...or for some reason have decided you dont like it.. why bother commenting here?... go post in the Avid forum.

I hope we get a CA-2A ported to AAX as a content club freebie.

And what about regions?

I have heard from GS that a lot of big guys love that feature.  You can create and keeps writing, and in the end just use regions to choose which part the song ends up with.

Jeff, maybe you can tell us how this works.

But as PT is 64 bit and Fast Bounce is finally here, I will get it under the education discount.

I will be ready when asked if I use Pro Tools by clients.

I will keep both systems on my computer.

sincerely.

It's you.
But if you dont have it
That's you.
or dont want it...
You again.
or for some reason have decided you dont like it..
Assuming once again, probably you.
why bother commenting here?
I have to ask you the same question.

I like these comparison threads because it informs me of feature sets I don't know about, in both DAWs. It also keeps Roland on their toes about what people like and want in future versions of Sonar. Some people here like and use both, not necessarily a which is better conversation but what others find useful from both.

charming response, but i shall not lower to respond in kind and simply suggest you focus on your own opinions and leave others to have theirs.
