Has this been a problem for anybody but me?

I really don't want to connect my spiffy new pristine studio computer to the hostile ravages of an Internet connection.

But, I would really like to try Addictive Drums which is one of the reasons I purchased the upgrade to X3.

Is there an alternative installation method that does not require having your target computer connected to the Internet?

Hey Jack!

I went the direct download route myself and had no problems however I would think that you could download the installation files to a portable drive and then make the installation on your new machine from the portable.  Just a thought......

Best luck!

I was, like you, very reluctant to put my music PC online for this (I'd managed to avoid this till now) but there seems to be no other way to do it. For what it's worth the brief hookup turned out to be, quick simple and harmless. In answer to the other post above it can't be done via an external drive and has to download direct.

I'm glad I bit the bullet it as I'm pretty impressed with Addictive Drums.

Same here...   I purchased a wireless USB adapater for exactly this reason.   Well, for both AD and AK.   But I really like the fact that once I'm done with my online needs, I simply remove the USB adapter and no longer have any kind of internet connection - simple, safe, and so easy.

I went the offline route and downloaded version 1.5.3. After spending some time with it, I found that I really didn't care for the sound of AD, so I'm not frustrated anymore that I can't get the newest version. I went back to my BFD Eco and Kitcore.

If you don't browse from the DAW and you have a firewall up, you should have no problem simply using the connection for downloading legitimate programs and updates as well as registrations...

I've been doing it for two decades now and none of my machines suffer web stuff until I retire them from DAW and star carousing... ;-)
