You can of course buy the vst version of the Sonitus suite.

These are still only 32 bit, but if you decided to do this, they would be available in the 64 bit version of sonar via BitBridge or JBridge

i never thought about installing the 32bit version as well. this is my 1st comp running in 64 bit and when I got it new I thought I can only install 64bit software. great. I'm just installing the 32bit version and hope everything will work out fine. Thanks a lot for your help!!!! especially brundle for this idea.

well, it seems that even if you install the 32bit-version it doesn't work.
i did the following:
installed the 32bit version in a different folder, added the new 'shared plugins' folder to the plugin manager, still the sonitus effects only appeared once (guess in the old, 64 bit version).
so I temporary deleted the 'shared plugins' folder in the 64bit version and replaced it with the 32bit version, so that only the 32bits existed, started the 32version of X1 again, and still...nothing worked.
nice try, though.

edit: the presets of the 32 bit versions still seem to be embedded in the bundle file of the songs, since the plugin replacer tells me, that it's still there. is there any way to access the presets of the old versions? the X1 plugin manager tells me where it stores the 64bit presets, but the 32bit versions don't seem to be somewhere..

When you installed x1 32 bit did you install the plug-ins? Otherwise you won't get the 32 bit versions.

You never have to scan for DX plug-ins - they're not VSTs, they're an extension of the DirectX system used by Windows. Once installed anywhere on your computer any app that can use DX plugs can see them. 32/64 DX plug-ins are separate animals and they don't interact.  I guess its possible that they could sharing patch libraries or share some registry setting that would be unique to that particular plug-in - but having one installed won't prevent you from using the other.

Regarding accessing preset info from project files? As far as I know only Cakewalk support can help you on that.

yeah, of course i also installed the plugins. like i said: i deleted the dx plugins from the 64bit versions, so that only the ones from the 32bit installation were there.
X1 is no longer supported by the cakewalk support, but i already gave it a try and wrote a msg. thanks y'all.
