I accidently deleted an important track and then hit save. Can I just copy it into my clipboard from a backup version, and then just paste it into the version I'm currently on? Thanks. (I'd try it myself but I quit working on music last night when I found this out, and I'm at my non music related day job right now)

If you have the Preferences option to allow two projects to be open at once I think you can even drag it in. You could also use the Import function to import the wave if you know where it is on your computer.

I don't think you can copy the wave, close the project, open the new project then paste it though... but I'm not sure. I think I tried that once and it didn't work.

I'm pretty sure the wave file will still be in the project audio folder unless you cleaned the audio folder out. If you have a track template similar to the lost track, you can create a new track with the template and import the wave file from the project's audio folder. File->import audio->browse to the project's audio folder.

Yeah, the wave file itself should still be in the project directory, unless you don't use "per project" in which case it will be in the global audio folder. Might take a bit of finding if that's the case though the wave file names don't necessarily tally with what they are called in the project.

Actually its a part that is built up from about 15 wave files (punch in/out tracks). I did not clean the audio folder so now I'll see what I can do....Thanks everyone.

Even if you hit "save" you should still be able to hit "control Z" to undo anything you've done unless you've closed the program after you deleted it.

Sonar is a non destructive editor so it keeps edit information without deleting the original audio.

Sonar also works as a fully compliant Windows program so things like cut, copy and paste work across the Wi does clipboard. Select a wav file, copy then paste it at the selection point in Sonar. Determined by your audio from settings within Sonar.

I wasn't able to open up two projects at the same time and copy and past from one project to the other. I did, however, pull up the old version, export/bounce the track that I needed to a wave file, and reimport it back into the newer version. So in the end all is good. Backups are a great thing and I also now have the gobbler account setup and working as well.
