So here's "Banana Bike" in all it's cacophonous glory.

This mix, after listening to it on the web...still sucks...I'm gonna lick it though. I just need a slightly bigger lasso to wrassle it to the ground.

Is this it? I had one of these.

Your song has little relevance to anything remotely marketable - which is why I say "well done!"

I very much like the Monty Python-type chorus!!! I thought the mix could clean up a tad in the midrange, as you likely heard also . . . great stuff, I always appreciate your musical takes on things.

cheers,

+1 on the critique!

Had one. Don't remember the color. How old does that make me? Ha. All that bad boy needs now is some baseball cards clothes pinned into the spokes. And I kind of hate to admit this, but I think mine had streamers in the handles.

What a cool idea for a tune!

Yup...baseball cards in the spokes for me as well.  Ah...those were the days.

Yo Riley,

I may like this one better than your other recent exceptional and unique postings. Its kind of a warped version of those multiple early 60's paeans to a favorite ride, such as Little Honda. The lyrics are a hoot, and the arrangement is deft and detailed-much better than it needs to be, sort of like Brian Wilson's were.  It even has something like jingle bells in the chorus.

I grew up in a white bread neighborhood and the Schwinn Stingray -with the banana seat and butterfly handlebars- came out in 1963 when I was 10 years old. Almost overnight, everyone seemed to have one. By the end of the decade, Peter Fonda had the same handlebars on his motorcycle in Easy Rider. And of course, there are the flying banana bikes in E.T.

Real good stuff.

Cheers,

Bert

Myolpal,

Yup...and it's still driving me friggin nuts on mixing it. I'm determined to wrassle it to the ground and make it cry uncle...but it will probably have to wait on several new tunes in the pipeline. I may have to rethink the chorus parts completely.
