Well... The technology behind that is for sure lightyears beyond total awesomeness.. .. But I really don't know how much I would use that specific function though and I would never pay that kind of money for something I just might use..

It would be really nice to know if we're about to get a discount or not. ..
If not I'm going for the Assistant version.

Yeah, sharke! I'd REALLY love to have this function too! =O ..Limitless possibilities!

Everyone will probably get a discount in a few months when the holiday sales start.

I got an email offer to upgrade from Melodyne Assistant to Melodyne Editor for $129 USD and I did it.

The header of the email offered an upgrade for $79, but apparently that was for people with a different base product than what I had.

I does seem like Assistant would be the natural replacement for V-Vocal. Essential is just woefully underpowered for precise editing. Looks I'll be getting Assistant for now!

Yeah. Same here..

It seems like cakewalk wants to keep any future plans for a melodyne update super deal a secret at the moment. .. That's a shame :/

Melodyne is superior to v-vocal (sound wise) already as it is. But not being able to edit formant or any kind of pitch drifting is too limited to be stuck with much longer.. :/

..Probably Cakewalk's aware of this and wants to wait for a while until most people already have done the regular-price upgrade, before they'll try and get the "less desperate" to jump on the train afterwards with a discount..

Presonus provided Melodyne Easential when they releases their first.version with ARA. There was never any special deal from Celemony. Lets face it, Cakewalk has given us a $100 discount to get.into whatever version you want. Incidentally, Melodyne is not a straight.swap for VVocal. If you have essential you can still use vvocal for what it offers.

Can't go back. Not after experiencing the transparency with which Melodyne Essential shifts notes!

Yeah. I guess you're right. I think I'll follow SvenArne then and get Assistant later today.

I've tried and work with v-vocal quite alot, but it's always ended up with me re-recording the take or just letting the take remain untouched. I think v-vocal just destroys the overtones in the audio no matter how gentle you are with the settings.. :/

Earlier this year I upgraded from Essential to the Editor and this was the promotion price off my invoice.

That's a good deal... and happens to be the same as the one that got me on board early last year.   While there are a few things that VVocal does better/quicker, for everything else there's Melodyne Editor.
