When trying to open the Yamaha MOX8 VST3, the following happens.

The VST3 works fine in my other crappier DAW software that came with my Yamaha, but I like Sonar way better. Any idea how to fix this?

I had read that earlier, but that guy seems to be experiencing a different error entirely. I don't even get to experience an error since it seems to crash as soon as I try to insert it. But if the same concept applies, I guess it's a fault of Yamaha/Steinberg and not Sonar? The workaround posted in that thread won't work since I can't even open the VST editor to begin with, haha.

My take away is even if it did not crash, it still would not work correctly. Might be useful to file a report to tech support and append the report to the other thread to consolidate the info.

Dunno if this will change anything?
In my case the S70XS shows up twice in the VST3 list, as "DSP based" and "external" . Given that Sonar has no way of knowing if the synth is ran with DSPs or hamsters I select external, not DSP based as you did...

there was another thread about MOX.. perhaps pm the poster to compare notes, but iirc his issue was communication (as mine was)

if you get it to load, I did a video to go over setup.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDCprqddPlg

Yeah, I tried every single option (DSP, external, etc). Same result each time. But yeah I might PM him later. Thanks.
