My monitor which is not touch enabled gets a lot of finger smudges.

I've started running a 46 inch sharp aqua LCD TV monitor on HDMI at 1920 X 1080 and love it. Secondary monitor is an I-INC 28 inch.

I have a 23" touch screen Vesa mounted like a mixing board.
I can't imagine being without it.
If budget allowed, I'd have gone with a larger one though.

+ 1 to the dual "monitors."

If I remember correctly, Bob Bone uses 2 32" HD TV's. These have the same resolution I run my 27" monitor at, but are more cost effective and easier on the eyes. He would be a good one to ask specifics on the TV idea, I think.

I'm really thinking about the big tv way, I do still have a 23 inch too.

what kind of refresh rate is fast enough in a tv to do the trick?

I've been using the same ACER223W monitors for about 4-5 years now...can't imagine more width, but more height would be useful. Before that I had two different sizes, and that was a real pain getting the resolutions right and dealing with the layout. I would recommend 23" or 24" (sweet spot for cost), matched pair...no more than HD, unless you want to go BIG!

Dude Ivey
I use a 32 inch HD TV. I like it but I wish it was bigger!

I switched over to using HDTV's a few years back, and am VERY happy I made the switch.

Although a purpose-built computer monitor will have a better picture, the image quality of an HDTV is fine for Sonar, AND you can get a LOT bigger display for the money by getting an HDTV.

My current setup uses 2 displays - my primary display is a 46" HDTV, and I keep the Track View open on that one, and my secondary display is a 32" HDTV.  I spent $360 for the 46" HDTV, and $199 for the 32" HDTV, which are pretty normal prices these days for TV's of those sizes - with a little looking around.  The 32" HDTV has the Console displayed on it, for easy access and viewing of the channel strips.

I USED to use 2 32" HDTV's.  When I picked up the 46", I then had 3 displays, but eventually gave one of the 32" displays away, as I just didn't need that third display.

I'm LOVING it.
