I recently purchased and Akai MPD26 pad controller. I was able to get the pads to work with drum plugins however the MPD26 has 6 sliders and also 6 knobs that can be assigned. I am having a problem assigning them to the channel strips. I have some questions:
I have a Presonus fader port that came with drivers so when I go to add a control surface I see the FaderPort as an option. Works Great!
I have no Windows 7 drivers for the MPD26 so when I add a control surface what should I choose? If I choose Generic Surface nothing happens. I do see the MPD26 midi ports available as an option which I am choosing.  Has anyone else successfully setup the Akai MPD 26 as a controller? I would like the sliders and knobs to function as well as the transport controls.

Hello,

I use the Generic Surface and you could then use the Akai MPK preset in the properties to get a "general" starting point.  You could also then use the "midi learn" function to program specific sliders and knobs to the given functions in Cakewalk.  IHTH....
