The faders on the Mackie Control are very smooth. They also have a long throw. That means they have a lengthly movement. When you turn on the MC it will go through a calibration and the faders should move smoothly. Keep in mind they can move quite fast. Also be sure you are in the right mode.  You want to be in Mackie Control mode.

What I wonder is do you have it setup right?

Yes, my MC is in the Mackie Control mode. I made a short movie (film) of the moving faders, but I do not know, how to send it to you (as attachment?).

Hi, John.
I understand, that you are working on MCU and SONAR - do you encounter such problem with the faders, like me?
Best,
Adam

Mine are fine. And no I am on the MC. It was the first version. The MC has Mackine Control mode and Logic Control mode. and uses MIDI ports only.  The MCU has Mackie Control mode plus Logic  control mode and HUI mode with MIDI ports. The MCU Pro has the same modes plus MIDI and USB.

In reality they are the same when using the Mackie control mode.

If the faders are jerky it could be a defective unit.

MCU & XT (not Pro) user here and no jerky faders either. I'm really hoping that any future version has much improved Mackie protocol support. It hasn't been 100% for a long, long time and is getting worse.

Inability to control the PC is the most annoying. Currently you'll only "see" the first module in the PC. I'm using ACT and a different surface for ProChannel control but it'd be nice to have it from the MCU.

Thank you, Karl!
I hope, after releasing update of MackieControl.dll by Cakewalk, everything will be OK.
Few days ago I have bought your "SWA Complete Sonar X2" video tutorial - thank you, it is very helpful!
Best Regards,
Adam

John, how are you?
I just tried another DAW applications with my MCU PRO. After testing my SONAR X2 (faders are jerky), next MOTU Digital Performer 8 (faders goes smooth up, but jerky down) and finally MAGIX Samplitude Pro - here faders works, say, good in both directions. And what should I do? I planned return the unit (as defective) to the seller, but in actual situation? I do not know... I do not want to work with Samplitude (although it looks enough attractive), beacuse I use SONAR for few years.. Do you think, this mysterious .dll file in a new version could help me with these jerky faders? (and these not working buttons) in MCU PRO?
Best,
Adam
