Interested in knowing if the BCF2000 or Mackie will be able to control that new EQ or not (using the standard controls, not some weird combo of settings).

I'd love to update my BCF2000 tutorial videos on the website to reflect the changes to X3 (which of course I'd have to get first)...

The MCU only sees the first plug in in the Prochannel chain.  I pulled the EQ to the top but controlling it was useless. It's more of an accident that it controls anything at all.

Thank you for your answers. It seems, that we will still waiting for a full support from the Cakewalk... Maybe new people at TASCAM will help...? (in future X3 updates).

The driver for the MCU was written by a 3rd party back around 2006.  Honesty, with the move toward touchscreen, I'm not getting my hopes up.

Yeah - but is it realistic to assume that everyone would have a touch screen, especially one that was laid out in front of you rather than vertically a few feet away as would be typical for most people?  There are a ton of MCU and BCF2000 devices already out there that USED TO work for all the features they were supposed to and that was since broken at least 2 years ago with X1.  It appears that the MCU driver was written in 2006 - has it been updated in any way since then?  2006-2013 is a LONG time!

I think (I wrote about it earlier), that not all sound engineers of whole world will working on touchscreens (I hope). Most of them love to feel the real faders under their fingertips...
I have just installed the new X3a and I have to say, nothing's changed in matter of MackieControl.dll... I really regret I bought X3...

One of my disappointments as well. I had F7 turn on the metronome for play and F8 turn on the metronome for record.  Neither are available now.  I know the CW hotkeys on F3 but I got used to having the click available on the MCU in other DAW software.

Hi Dave!
I just wrote to Chris Boucher, who was involved in developing of MackieControl.dll... I used an old (2006) mail address, so I am not sure, he will answer... We'll see...

I believe it was Chris who I emailed several years ago to ask about an update to the Contour Shuttle Pro drivers and was basically told that he did it for them as a project and had not/would not be revisiting its development.  This was a case of a piece of equipment that I still use today that was sold BY cakewalk through their site that support dropped for shortly after it's release (or maybe it was after the V2 of the same).  the functionality of this device was really cool and became less over time/versions but was never addressed.  This is unfortunately not uncommon with Cakewalk stuff - and the basis of my concerns in these areas - same with this Mackie stuff, same with the drum maps, and many other lingering items that aren't bugs but certainly should have been cleaned up or put back to original function by now.
