Thanks so much for that reference.  This was a real inspiration to watch.  Such a great mind, and not just in a theoretical way.  Einstein never built a product that exploited the theory of relativity.  It is a truly exceptional person who can operate on both the theoretical and practical planes so easily.
 
(And to be fair to Einstein, neither Bill Gates nor Steve Jobs built a time machine based on Einstein's work either.)
 
What is exciting to me is that we truly are not too far away from the day when the polyphonic analysis will be able to decompose full mixes into their individual instruments.  Fundamentally, if a human can hear it and discern the parts, then a computer can be programmed to do the same or better.

Two things:-
 
1) Does he look like a relative of Bit?
 
2) Do you think he cares if the string is tuned to A=440 or A=432?
 
I think not.  physics only cares about ratios, not integers..

When I went to "help" and chose "license", I was not given an opportunity to choose registration number and type it in. I was taken to a place to confirm the license for essential, even though it was already registered and confirmed by email.
 
My case may be different because I was given an opportunity to upgrade immediately during the process of registering essential. This included a download of the program. I then installed the program from "setup" in the download files, but it only gave the chance to repair, re-install or remove the program (from installshield). I chose re-install, and it only took a second, but the program when I ran it was still only essential.
 
Today I removed essential and installed editor from the download I was sent. This time of course it just did the install. The download was personalized so that the registration for editor was already there. I didn't have to enter it.
 
Again, I did not get editor through the email offer and go to the site. I got it immediately during the process of registering essential (you guys had me so excited I didn't give it a second thought.) So this may not apply to any other type of installation. Nonetheless, a simple uninstall essential/install editor download took less than 5 min. Everything works perfectly.

Oh man... reading these threads and seeing what this tool can do finally got to me and I picked it up... downloading now. 

You are all rotters. I finally gave in and upgraded to Editor.  How could I not after this thread. The upgrade may have been cheap, but the divorce will cost so much more.. Thank you..

Thank you for the heads up. Celemony sent me the email but I did not see it as it went to spam. I was writing support when it occurred to me to look in my spam folder. There it was.

Wow! I just... Wow! You have said so much in those first two sentences. You could have been talking about a a lot of different things there.
 
Well, I am off to watch some Melodyne Editor videos. I assume those will just turn me off from the tool altogether and save money.

What are the reasons to get Editor over Essential? I went to the Celemony site and read the comparison chart but I am not sure there is a lot of value for me. DNA is really cool but other than playing with it, I am not sure what I would use it for. I feel like I am missing something.
