Hello all,

I would like to find a VU meter for Windows, so I can use it as a reference when I listen to songs outside of Sonar.

I have the Klangheim VU meter that opens in Sonar. Is there a way to make it available as a stand-alone meter on the Windows Desktop?

Thanks, Ray

Foobar 2000 has a basic bar-graph style VU meter built in by default. I like it because it's pre-fader, so I can see what the real DR is regardless of the volume I'm listening is.

Yes. When you installed the VU meters, you also got executables (VUMTDuo.exe and VUMTSolo.exe)! For 64-bit installs, they're in the following directory by default:

C:\Program Files\Klanghelm\VUMT

I would expect something similar for 32-bit installs.

That's the easy part. The challange will be routing audio through it. You may need something like Voicemeeter.

Thanks, Scook, Bitflipper and Maartian.

I 've downloaded Foobar and the vst (pre-fader is a good point, BT) and will try to figure out how to get Windows 8.1 to recognize the VUMT. For now, I'm trying not to buy another plug-in, so I'll try Google. (Nothing on the Klangheim website).

Again, thanks.
