I can think of many more, but this list shows how ridiculous the RnR HOF really is. Just how many more platinum albums and sold out tours some bands on that list need before the idiots at the HOF wake up?

Shouldn't be too long before Magic Johnson or even Beyonce gets inducted in the National Hockey League Hall of Fame.

Depeche Mode     YES. Poppy but musically inventive

No. Hanging on the coat tails of Gary Numan/Tubeway Army, The Cure, Ultravox, Human League etc, they didn't break any new ground IMO.

All favorites of mine.  I think I need a New Wave day soon...

How I'd vote, based on rock 'n roll-ness, longevity, innovativeness and overall influence on other musicians.

Tupac Shakur      NO. Not rock 'n roll.
Janet Jackson      NO. ditto.
Joan Baez           NO. ditto
Bad Brains          Who?
Yes                     YES, and about time!
ELO                    ABSOLUTELY
Pearl Jam            YES
The Zombies       YES. Respect for keyboard players before it was cool
J. Geils Band       NO. A one-hit-wonder. Huge hit, yes, but there's just the one
Steppenwolf        YES. Ground-breaking proto-metal
Journey               YES. If only for longevity, but also a damn good rock band
MC5                    MAYBE. Influenced a lot of people, or so I'm told
Shaka Khan         NO. Quality sappy pop, but not rock 'n roll
Chic                    NO. Endless respect for Mr. Rogers and company, but it's not the "disco hall of fame"
Kraftwerk            YES. Maybe it's not rock 'n roll but they influenced many rock 'n rollers
The Cars             YES. Sophisticated, inventive productions that influenced the way records are made
Depeche Mode     YES. Poppy but musically inventive

Feel free to disagree!

I like that list Bit. I would give Shaka Khan a yes though.

...On a rock and roll scale of one to Lemmy...

That's good. I'm gonna use that one, assuming I get a chance to.

Just missing this year's list and a likely shoe-in for next year is Ernie Nergebaum, or Duh as he will be better known. Granted, he won't be born for a few more years and he never will learn to play an instrument, have any sense of rhythm, or be able to recognize a tune as it's being carried past him, but that shouldn't be a problem for the Hall.

Created from a misguided attempt to clone Justin Bieber?

Each time you clone a clone, there's a qualitative loss or degradation. Based upon Mr. Bieber's genetic characteristics, it would appear that human cloning was invented prior to 273 A.D.
