I am not able to enter BIOS. I had issue with NI Maschine Controller where when it connected, Windows were not able to load and would go in to restart loop. So I settled with disconnecting Maschine controller and only connect it after Windows fully loaded. Been working with NI tech support with no resolution.

Well- when Windows not able to load and goes in to loop, then it attempts to self-fix itself. When this happens- I abort this process to avoid it uninstalling stuff and reverting to "Best Known Configurations". While dealing with all this trouble, I was able to enter BIOS and disable legacy USB 3 support and such things.

The other day I did 2 things: I installed new Toshiba SSD and attempted to change slots of the memory (It was 1A1B and it supposed to be in 1B2B- minor thing- it was working fine in 1A1B, but I thought- I will try to move it). After that- the BIOS would not load. When pressing F2 it goes in to black screen for a second and then OS loads. Some time I can see the Black with white text screen that usually precede BIOS, but that disappears and OS loads.

I changed memory back to where it was- 1A1B. The Toshiba SSD was recognized with no problems, formatted and works fine. I was able to enter BIOS few times after that. It appears- it only loads once out of 5 attempts. I am trying to contact Asus but they would not reply. BIOS is pretty important program for hardware operations and I like it to work properly.

There is update to BIOS, but it is difficult risky process to do- BIOS Flashback may or may not work. It may flash few times and turn solid light as if it failed, and then all system may fail. Should I attempt top update? If my BIOS already corrupted, updating it may not be good idea. I do not know if it is new installer or if it based on old installation. Any thoughts?

BIOS is run with a memory stick in the 1st slot.  without that your system cannot run the BIOS.  Depending on your motherboard memory in newer systems much be installed in pairs 2 sticks in the slot 1 positions

I never update my BIOS unless there is something that I must have mentioned in the release notes.  Why go to all that trouble and risk if none of the improvements are going to effect your puter use.

not sure why you would have issues with Machine controller hanging your system boot.  Maybe a USB2/USB 3 issue, bad cable.  I just bought a new computer with tons of USB 3 ports on the back and my Maschine Micro doesn't like those ports.  I put the Maschine on front USB 2 port and iratic behavior went away.

I've been warned that flashing the BIOS on an already configured system is a bad idea and can cause all sorts of wackiness. Especially if you are unsure of exactly what you are doing. You may want to leave that alone or call a pro.

The manual says- the memory belongs in to A2B2. I did not read right, so I installed it in A1B1. The reason I wanted to move it was because Maschine was failing OS boot and I could not think anything else would cause it. Maschine is connected to USB 2.0 on the back, but I did try it on the front port- the same thing. I did try different cable. There other USB devices on the back and they all work fine (well- accept Novation Launchkey midi controller, that works better on the front). Maschine wracks boot like a tornado- I don't know how my computer recovers after it. The tech support does nothing- told me to uninsrtalll drivers- I did- did not help- they told me to clean registry from keys...

I did BIOS flashback before and it is very sensitive. But not being able to enter BIOS makes me thing- it is corrupted or something. It gets to the screen but can not load and goes in to OS.

Thank you for your replies. I spoke with Asus tech support and they suggested to reset CMOS. I did that to no improvement. Then I
went on and updated BIOS. So far- it entered BIOS couple of times, so I hope it is fixed. Now I am wondering... Can you think of any reasons why hardware USB MIDI controller (Maschine) would cause Windows not load? The Asus guy had no idea. It puts Windows trough the loop of restarts and eventually it wants to repair itself. I was told by native instruments to reinstall drivers, which did not help. So now they say to reinstall it again and delete registry keys if they still there. I am wondering if that loop caused my BIOS to corrupt. I am pretty sure- deleting registry keys and reinstalling the same driver would not fix it and put it right back in to loop and may affect my BIOS again (if it related in any way). They will have new software version next month but they want $99 for it. This is way unfair. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Maschine uses the NI Hardware driver service (NIHardwareService by name).
Go into Services and disable it or set it to manual.
See if that helps.
On my system it is set to start automatically. Manual should be good enough I would think.
