  • Registration Number?

I installed X3 from the DVD last night, but so far no details of my reg number, nor are any of the actual products listed in my Cakewalk Account.

There was a bit of a runaround as I had to enter a redemption code (provided by the retailer, Et-Cetera) before I could even plug my serial number in, but it all seemed to work ok. Then, once inside X3 it prompted me to register online which I did, but so far Zip.

I've sent them an email, but due to the time difference I guess nobody has seen it yet.
Has anyone else had any problems?

Thanks,
Jonesey

Hi, Colin.

There was a long delay with mine and I PMed one of the Cake staff, who looked into it for me. Whilst he was investigating, the number appeared.

How long have you been waiting?

Only since last night Jonathan, so about 14 hours

That's a bummer - much longer than I had to wait.

I originally PMed Seth Kellogg, not realising that he'd changed job, but he still kindly looked into it.  He suggested PMing Ryan Munnis.

Perhaps you could try PMing Ryan.  They should be around soon.

Hope you get it sorted soon, I know how frustrating it can be.  I think you'll love X3.  Is the new studio up and running then?

Partially.

I've almost finished the decorating, I've got 40 3" foam tiles to spot treat a couple of areas sitting there waiting for the spray adhesive to arrive.

What else have I got to do....

Install my Bass Traps
Beef up the door with MDF and treat it.
Put up some shelves behind where I plan on sitting, for general absorbtion
Hang my guitars!!! And sort out my pedalboard(s)

Then I have to start work on my desk. Currently all my gear is sat on a large picnic table and I've got my most critical pieces of hardware in a 10U folding rack. The new desk will accommodate everything with ease, and with space left over for expansion.
But that will be a lengthy job - I'm no carpenter, but I'll save a couple of grand by doing it myself.

After installing from the DVDs I entered my redemption code at 12:03, Sat 12/10/13 and the registration code appeared via email at 00:27, Sun 13/10/13 (both BST).  X3 appeared in my store a/c at sometime 12/10/13.  As it was a weekend, even allowing for the time difference I assume there was no manual intervention.  They must have as slow system if it takes >12hrs to automatically grind out 16 characters!  But the package ran OK on 'register later' till the code came through.  Nowhere near as frustrating as Cakewalk used to be, when you couldn't run the software at all for days waiting for a serial number after the download.  Note to self: it's worth waiting for the box!
PS.  I still haven't plucked up the courage to edit the keys in the Windows registry to upgrade Dim Pro since X2!    Registry editing just for an upgrade to a product I originally paid for as a standalone!  Most users won't even know what a the Windows registry is - or how terminal it can be to mess with it!  How crap is that!?

I've just had an email from Cakewalk with my Registration Number, but it's not on my store account yet - not that I'm too bothered about it at this stage, I've got the DVD's

Thinking about it, do I need it to show on my Cake account in order to download the X3b update?

Answered my own question. It's here:

I had the same problem. Got the registration by email, but it's still not in my account. I think there's something wonky in how it's all tracked when you order the download from somewhere other than the Cakewalk store.
