  • How do I transpose all the audio tracks in my project in X2?

Just received a project from a client. All audio tracks. Mostly various guitars and vocals. She wants the key taking up one semitones.

The last time I tried transposing audio was a few years ago. The results were useless. I created groove clips and played around with them. Couldn't get it not to mess around with the timing. I don't want any time stretching. Just simply take all the audio clips or tracks up one semitones and have it still sound great.

Do I have another tool in X2 that will do this job flawlessly? Is it R-Mix. I've never touched R-Mix yet I must confess. How should I proceed? And no I don't have time and funds right now to upgrade to X3. The session is tomorrow. Just in case you were to tell me that Melodyne is the answer.

Cheers.

Hi Zoff,
There are solutions in the SteceC 's link but :
If I well remember, select  the clip you want to transpose, select (in the upper menu) Process > Transpose. The transpose dialog box appear and check : "Transpose audio" and choose the "Type" according the type of your clip : "Radius solo" if it deals with a monophonic source; "Radius Mix" if your clip is a mix... I don't touch to the other parameters and it works nice for me ! It is recomended to stay in a limit of 4 semitones up or down but you have to experiment if you perceive artefacts if you go further...
But I have no idea if this process uses the new pitch shifter algorithm (n°2 I think) which was supposed to appear with the new Sonar X serie ??

Ah , I've found out the manual page which explains how to transpose :

Is it possible to do track transposing by using melodyne editor ?
And save that " Transpose " as a preset, and use that preset for the next track !

I know melodyne is almost artifact free, more or less
so it would be a suitable plugin ?

I don't have melodyne, so someone have to try a couple of track's to see if it's possible !
