Hi there!

I was wondering with I can sell my Cakewalk licenses and, if I can, how can I better do it?

I have Sonar X2 Producer, Concrete Limiter, CA2A, PC4K comp, PC4K gate, Dimension Pro and Rapture.

Thanks a lot for your help

Peace

No, Cakewalk doesn't allow you to sell your licenses.

No u can not sell it, put it in da trashbin ;-)
Do i hear some crying..., yes sadly it's money out of the window
don't mean to be offensive here

They sell it, you buy it and own it !

When you own something you should be able to sell it right ?
That's just my opinion.

What if we sold our older Cakewalk software, would that mean less
sales for Cakewalk !, or would it increase Cakewalk's sale ?

IMO i think they would reach more customers by allowing
Cakewalk users
to spread /promote the product !

I have had 6 or 7 versions of Cakewalk software, yet I still only have one license.

You checked the boxes agreeing you have no right to sell or transfer, during the install.

The funny thing is that most ppl starting making music
starting with pirate software, to explore more than 30 day's to
really get to know the product over a longer period.
Also trying different DAW's etc, to find out if that suit's the need, and the workflow.

the question is will he / she, buy a legal product later ?

1 : I need to confess ...
Yes i have used pirated software, but not anymore.
Why i buy now... because supporting the software developer to make
a better product is important.

2: I am now Christian, that's the second reason  ;-)

But the industry is greedy on making money, not just music software

but everything.

And if they sell a product, they will also charge you money
to transfer a product as well.
That i do not like, but that's me.

I have buy'd quite a lot of plugins, but instead of reselling it
i have tossed loads onto the trashcan and deleted it for
some reasons...

I upgraded to X2 studio, but that also went into the trashcan, and hit the delete button. ;D

Which may not be legal in Brazil.  Some countries don't allow software companies to forbid selling off your license, as I understand it.

Personally, as a trade off for having serial/regcode copy protection (as opposed to something more restrictive), I think it's totally worth it.

This comes up form time to time and my answer is how is Brazil or any other country going to enforce their prohibition?  CW can not be forced to recognize a used license.

The only way would be to prohibit the sale of CW products in their country. Not the most advantageous solution for consumers in those countries. And would be in violation of free trade agreements.
