Normally if you highlite several trax, hold control and move or edit, all those trax are edited alike.
I'm getting the reverse.
Groups of faders and prochannel inputs are affected UNLESS I hold control.
IOW if I hold Control, only the one of a group that is selected is affected and the reverse.
I think it has something to do with groups. (I have all the drums & guitars on busses for EG)
But It's confusing because I can hold ctrl and it acts differently for each group. EG it will sometimes combine faders etc from other groups.
Is this the way groups normally work?

Sounds right. Using the Control key on a grouped item temporarily takes it out of a group. On selected tracks, using the control key on an item that is not part of a group will create a quick group that can include items that are already in other group. The quick group will only affect the items in the quick group.

Thanks, I'll just have to get used to it.
It sure can screw up a mix in a hurry if you are not working in the console view and you adjust something.
There is no way to know what others are affected.

I think you are confusing groups with quick grouping. Groups will affect all in the group unless, as scook has pointed out you hold down the ctrl key which over rides the group.

Holding down the ctrl key with no tracks selected will move that control on all tracks of the same control type including those all ready grouped, unless the moved control is part of a group already, in which case grouping is overridden as stated . If tracks are selected it limits the quick grouping to those tracks.

Lol, put that way it's not confusing at all.
Thanks
