You didn't prove that at all.  Good art is beautiful, and this song is no exception.  I sincerely hope you keep at it.

I think this song is better with the lead guitar like you did, rather than a vocal.  It definitely made me smile. :D

I could almost hear the Swan fly across the stereo Rikkie I think Dave would have enjoyed/understood this.  Grantchester Meadows is a magical place.

Nice tone on that guitar recording Rik. And why shouldn't you play guitar any more? That sounded better than anything I can play, with me having to slice and splice all over the place LOL!

cheers

Hi John, thanks for listening. Dave was my inspiration to want to play the guitar, many, many moons ago ; )

Hi andy, thanks, you're to kind. I was a half decent guitarplayer once, now I feel more like half a guitarplayer ; )

You were a fantastic guitar player, and now you're struggling a bit with some physical challenges.  But hopefully your physical skills can be rebuilt.  More importantly, your creativity and musicality hasn't changed a bit.

Perhaps you could augment the guitar with some more synthetic parts?  I know that kind of goes against what you've traditionally strived for, but I think some of the recent synth guitar instruments are capable of some subtlety (although they too will take some practice to get them just right).  But they might be less physically taxing, while that remains an obstacle.  Just a thought. :)

Here are some possible candidates, if you're interested (and assuming you are even able to spend a few bucks) :

Hi Walt, thanks man. I believe there's a version of strum in x3 producer, never even looked at it, never had to.

Yes, that's right.  I'd forgotten that there's a limited version of Strum (called Strum Acoustic Session) in some of the Sonar packages.  I have the full AAS Modeling collection, so I didn't look into it.  But my understanding is that there are only a small handful of presets (the full version has hundreds of presets to start with).  Also, I may have seen a recent email from Cakewalk saying the upgrade from the "Session" version to the full version was something like $49?  I've played with Strum (they recently updated it to include a bunch of electric guitars as well) and it's quite intuitive, and sounds great to me.  I still haven't placed it into any of my recent songs, but I have been trying to find a good spot for it, because it sounds so good.
