Does anyone have any clue why (randomly) on audio tracks sometimes the FX bin won't accept plug ins.

As in when you drop a plug in into the fx bin the plug in greys out with no ability to switch it on? I don't really use the pro channel fx and mainly rely on waves plugins but this is driving me nuts. The only way I have managed to get round it is to bounce the audio to a new track and start again on that track.

It does it on frozen midi tracks as well but to me at least that seems logical because the track is frozen but audio tracks makes no sense. Any help is appreciated

I've never seen that happen.  The only thing I could think of would be the track FX bin has been set to bypass.

Where is the button for global bypass of the fx bin wasn't aware of that

Several ways the FX bin can be disabled
 
"E" is the keyboard shortcut

After freezing a track, the FX bin is disabled for the track. To re-enable the FX bin right-click in the FX bin and uncheck "Bypass Bin" or right-click the track strip and uncheck "Bypass Effects Bin"
