I don't think the issue is that it can't be done, but that it requires so much care and extra time bouncing things. It's time-consuming and error-prone. One mistaken selection or forgotten setting in the bounce options, and you're doing it all over again.

I have tried my own idea (post #11) about using the comp feature (after muting clips in the track) then bouncing/mixdown to separate tracks and then exporting those tracks. When comping with the track's clips muted it pick ups only those desired clips in the composite track at their position in the track/project. It works, try it yourself. Perhaps a video would convince you?

I don't need convincing.  See my post #13 above where I quoted you making this suggestion before.  Yes it works, and in fact this is exactly what  I am doing now.  But I agree with Brundlefly that it is time consuming and error-prone.
