Your input is appreciated and I wrote some lyrics in light of our recent posts.  After all, the net result of all this effort is to provide some level of creativity.

Al's well that end well
On the road to both heaven and hell
There's not a cloud in the sky
But then there's nothing seen up high

You might want to work on your metre and scanning.. Just a little creative input..

Not a chance! It's perfect just the way it is...rough edges. Just like our tacit relationship.

Surely to have a relationship there would need to be a little more interaction. Or is just one comment as long as most of yours last?

I think you need to work on your inter-personnel relationship skills.  You have managed to insult at least two people who came here to offer you help.

Remember, they didn't have a problem, they have nice studios.  You asked for advice.

Anyhow, I hope you get some good suggestions.

Good luck.

One of the best studio purchases I've made was this chair http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004P3WFME/ref=oh_details_o07_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1   The arms flip up for when your holding a guitar.

That's a nice comfortable-looking chair, and I like the flip-up arms idea. I'll have to remember that next time I upgrade my chair situation.

Hey Carlos - long time no see. X3 is really drawing a lot of the old crowd back for a look.

I love this desk! Its got 8 space rack. Theres a side car that matches it but it sold separately, I bought it too. Its perfect for me.

Hey mudgel! Yes it seems to be the case... and I don't even HAVE X3 yet!  ;D
FWIW I've been lurking around, popping up once in a blue moon. But there does seem to be a lot of excitement lately (no doubt there's lots going on).

That does look like a nice solution. The racks double as monitor stands! You might be able to leave the casters off for a more "permanent" location. It looks like this desk does not have a drawer for the computer keyboard.  If that's the case, you could probably add this:
http://www.amazon.com/Alera-Valencia-Underdesk-Keyboard-Mahogany/dp/B001HA4DAK/ref=sr_1_9?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1381796798&sr=1-9

You'll want something with ball-bearing slides, so it is smooth. Mine is horrible - it sits on rods, which scrape when you move the drawer. Yech! But I did only pay $99 for the desk about 10 years ago.

Hello all,
I live near Vancouver B.C. Canada and I'm buying a studio desk for the following gear. I'm hoping something from IKEA Canada or Staples Canada would work well. I already have tons of storage shelves, couch, chair etc. thus the remaining usable space is about 15 feet by 10 feet.

I'm a singer/guitarist/keyboardist and I'll be working alone in my hobby studio. I'm going to try and do a fair amount "in the box" except vocals, guitar and keyboard controller, and I may opt for a hardware control surface or a touch screen at some point soon.

I don't want anything too big or too expensive because I still want to maneuver in there and it doesn't makes sense (to me) to have studio furniture that costs a sizable percent of the gear itself. Suggestions? Also where's a cheap/good place to get things like LCD monitor mounts and such (hopefully locally)? The usual local retailers want way too much for these simple pieces.

Adam A7X monitors.
Roland UA-1010 Octa-Capture or Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 audio interface.
Korg Kronos 61 and/or Akai MPK88 $800 keyboards (may only need one at a time not sure yet).
Two: 24" LCD monitors or one: 27" monitor (not sure yet).
Mid-tower PC running Sonar Producer X2/X3 and Kontact Komplete.
PC keyboard & mouse.
One: touch screen monitor mounted flat as a control surface (not sure if I am going to do this or not though).
12 Space Open Studio Rack.

Obliged I am, Chumer.

Happy with my 'Ikea Jerker' that I got off of Craigslist....

Looks like you are in luck... http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/van/fuo/4122428745.html

How is the Touch-Surface working out?

More of the straw man logical fallacy i.e. you misrepresented me, plus this time with specious claims i.e. plausible but false. Further you exempted the word "tacit" thus compounding your straw man argument. I would kindly ask that you do not post further on this thread given your posts are not of benefit. Cheers, Chumer.
