are there components to X3 P that are in X2 P so that I don't have to install all of X3 P?

or do I need to remove X2 P completely?

The best thing to do is leave X2 Producer installed. Do not bother downloading DimPro or "Loops and One Shots". If you wish to skip the Rapture install, run the X3 using the advanced install option and deselect Rapture.
