I know I have seen this posted before but couldn't find it.

I went through the preferences 3 times and don't see a setting.

I have searched through the manual and am not finding it.

Thanks

Holding down the Shift key while opening a project will prompt you to load / or not load, the plugins used in a project.

Thanks. I did not ask my question properly. I want them all to load, I just don't want their GUIs open by default.

If you saved the project with the GUI's open - when you reopen the project the GUI's will open.
So, maybe your project was saved with the GUI's open.

So . . . you're saying that if you save a project with many plugins in the open position, how can you open the project without them opening automatically ?
Sorry, haven't heard of that one. Perhaps someone else here will know.

Just close the GUI'S before you save the project...

OK. I feel stupid now lol

I had it stuck in my head that there must be a setting somewhere.

Thanks!

Doesn't that only happen if you save the project with plug-in GUI in the open state?

From what I recall - if I have 20 plug-ins in a project and at the time I save it I have 2 plug-ins with their GUI open, when I reopen the project those two plug-ins (and only those 2) will have their GUI open.

Assuming that I'm not wrong - wouldn't the fix be to close your plug-in GUIs before saving your project?

I would also think that having all the GUIs open for all the plug-ins being used would also be a resource drain.

Or am I misunderstanding things?

Edit:
I must type too slow, 1/2 a dozen people answered this by the time I clicked submit.

It all depends on the lock status of your current screenset.

If you open the gui of a plugin while the screenset is unlocked, then you will have to close them all before saving/closing/opening.

If you open the gui of a plugin while the screenset is locked however, then saving/closing should ensure they are all closed when re-opening.
