Yep, my thoughts as well.
50w: Make sure you set your driver mode to ASIO in the Sonar preferences under Playback and Recording.

I'm going to move the software over to my desktop. I'll let you know how that goes as I will be using your suggested settings. I had scheduled a weekend vacation to record and never could get it to work. Of course, that was disappointing and I have to face the music - I may be in over my head. I've been using Cakewalk for years and love it. This is the first time I've been completely stumped. I really appreciate you guys taking the time to try and help me out with this!!! I should have it all installed tomorrow evening.

I agree with Zo and Audiyo that it sounds like you are not using ASIO as the Driver mode in Sonar. Please check this and if you continue to have problems, please contact Focusrite support via this link:

I have both a 2i2 and an 8i6 and have no latency issues with either. I was suspecting the issue may be that you are not using ASIO as the driver settings, as well.
