Works fine here in an old project and a new one.  I'll be honest tho, if I had known that they didn't recommend it for projects started in Play 3 I absolutely would not have upgraded.  Not worth the risk.

Thanks for all the replies.

I think I'll leave it alone for now.
I'm not in the middle of any projects right now, but about to start something I don't really want to risk any fudging about with.

Play 3 works pretty well here anyway

Definitely worth heading to the forum over there and reading.  there is one bug that EastWest know about they are sorting out.

one of the interesting things is that Play 4 resets defaults so that's been the majority of peoples problems.  people are reporting major lag in loading samples and it's cause of the defaults.  they change the settings and they get the 30% increase.

It's not all EastWest's fault as many people are not reading the release notes, install notes etc.

I have EWQLSO Platinum and Play 3 with Sonar X1d and it's problematic - crashes sonar a bunch and I shelved it to work on and with other libraries.

Now that Play 4 is out I might upgrade and see if it works better but I need the time to invest in playing with it.

I have the same version as you (both EWQLSO Plat and X1d) and haven't had any issues yet (knock on wood). I am running 64bit with lots of RAM though, so the PC doesn't get that stressed. I wonder if the crashes are truly related to EWQLSO or some other plugin?

Dan

I only have 8gb ram and the samples for EWQLSO Platinum are on a fast regular hard drive.

I'm X1d 64 bit with w7/64bit.

I haven't gone back to look but I think I might be trying to use 32bit PLAY 3 in 64bit environment.  Not sure, my installation was hosed and took ages to get it sorted enough to just run.

I'm using play4 on windows 8 and the only issue I have is that the drop down boxes on the GUI usually disappear within a fraction of a second making it hard to change settings.

Little over a month now, any advances? How's PLAY 4 with X3b?
I am very happy using X3b for my audio rig. For my compositional system,
Sonar X2a and PLAY 3 coexist so happily.

Guess I'll hold off with Play 4 till one patch at least.
