No real musical instruments were harmed in this video...lol

All electronically created using to much coffee at 3 AM...lol

Just what happens when old guys get computers.

Hi Synkrotron,

The drums, bass, keys ect came directly from Band In A Box. In this case I did not import them into Sonar to mix them in any way or add my guitar or keyboard to the mix as this was just a test of the process. These are called Real Tracks in BIAB and are recorded live in a studio. Using the Band In A Box software they can be converted to many styles within certain tempo ranges.

What I would like to do is make backing tracks to play to live that actually sound good. Second, I would also like to make video, both animated and live combined together. That is a pretty daunting task to say the least. Original animated video is a huge skill to learn.

I am slowly getting a grip on producing backing tracks. That requires all the electronic tools, my own playing, the help of other musicians who can do things I do not have the skills to do myself, and so on.

It would be ever so cool to have an internet site where other people who like this idea could collaborate. There would need to be the basic site and a internet radio station and a internet TV station.

Cheers,

Billy

Yes Bill, big ears for sure, and the cat playing drums was way kool, but when I saw Obama dancing, well, that just took the whole cookie to a different level. Nice jam.

Peace and Blessings, John

Thanks John....yes the Obama clip was a little out of place...lol

I wanted to insert Bill Clinton playing Sax but then I would have to write a sax line and I ran out of Coffee...lol

Fun silly stuff at any rate.

Cheers,

Billy

So you are learning to make video too Billy? What are you using for that? Such a large area to cover and I wish I had the time for that sort of thing.

I'm still sitting on the fence with regards BIAB... Just another learning curve I can't afford right now.

I'm not sure that a collaboration site exists, as such, and peeps use various forms of FTP and "drop box" style sites in order to exchange material.

cheers

Hi Andy,

The desire to make video is just another creative outlet for my own amusement and perhaps others may get a chuckle out of it. I use Vegas Movie Studio and Pinnacle and DAZ Studio and messing around with Bender. The learning curve on that stuff is really steep..over my head for the most part.

The learning curve to do many things with BIAB is not bad at all. I have been very happy with the service. Tech support was super friendly although I did not have much to ask them.
The software sounded a hell of a lot better than I expected and was well worth the price.

I kinda of think of BIAB as a starting point to quickly generate ideas...chord progressions, styles and such.

At this point I have only good things to report.

As far as a collaboration site goes, I guess that ohm studio is not too bad. Near real time which is cool, software that is not very well developed yet. 32 bit which really sucks. Some really nice people and a few...well...standard internet nonsense. They have a radio station which is cool I guess. No TV station and I guess many people on the internet want to remain anonymous at any rate.

I am a little to old to get bent out of shape by what people think of the way I look or talk or play so I don't have much fear of sounding really good or sounding like crap or looking like who I am...lol

I have a lot of friends in England on the web, not sure why...guess I like the English sense of humor. A few in France because I speak French. I also speak Spanish and Arabic so the international colab thing is perhaps easy for me because of a understanding of the culture and I lived in Paris for a few years an so on.

Hell this post is becoming "War and Piece"...lol

See you soon,

Billy
