Seems like it would make good fodder for my Sound on Sound column..."optimizing the living daylights out of the TH2."

I await the column with baited breath

I like the sound but am I the only one that finds the GUI a bit clunky???

Yeah, thanks for popping in, Craig. I'd love to see an Anderton column on this... and Wookiee, opinion seems sharply divided on the interface. Some like that it's laid out more like a real life signal chain but others, like myself, find it a bit awkward and too spread out.

Just cause I have it open here are the settings I am currently using for the thrash tune. Left to right... TubeNine Pedal: Drive at 1 o'clock, Tone at 1 o'clock, Level at 2 o'clock. Splitter: OFF. Amp Head: Channel A Modern (US) set to "Modern". Channel B Overloud Custom set to "Boost. SLR slider set to two thirds to the right (More Overloud head). Drive = 7 Bass = 8.5 Mid = 3 Treble = 9 Presence = 10 Volume = 5.5 Level = 0 VariFire = 9. TH2 Mixer Pro (I didn't touch this): Delay 1 = 0 Width 1 = 100 Pan 1 = 0 Level 1 = 0 Set to Stereo with balance all the way to 1. Channel 2 is not being used. Cabinet: 4x12 Modern (US), Mic A adn B are AustrianGold414 both set to 0.0in on all parameters. Mix: Mic A = 0.0 Mic B, Rear and 45 set to infinity. Mic A and B are more or less centered on the bottom left cone. I really didn't do much to any of the cab parameters except selecting the cab and moving the mics around a bit. Sorry for the block of text.

Oh and I have the master section Input set to Low (using a humbucker). Gate is at a little over 12 o'clock and the rest of the parameters are at 12 o'clock (weird... I thought I had fiddled with those more).

Doe the TH2 Producer version do stand alone? How about the upgrade. Thanks.

I don't think TH2 producer works as a standalone (I don't see it in my programs folder) but the full version is supposed to.

Being used to using recabinet, I still think I'm hearing a bit of that "fizzyness" on higher notes, but I understand what you guys are saying about the chunk, it's nice.

Yup, full version works standalone.

I agree with the OP.  In the past couple of days that I've been using it I've been very surprised  how easily TH2 gives up some great sounds with very little tweaking - getting good sounds a lot quicker than with other sims I've used.
