Oh right. Just weary n tired from dealing with all this weirdness.

Thanks Beep!

Right on. Yeah, once things start getting hairy it's easy to overlook the simple things which add to the frustration. I usually take a smoke break when that starts happening so the DAW doesn't become airborne. ;-)

Yes. I have had this happen and I lump it in with the myriad of infuriating glitches I am referring to when I talk about the "Selection Bugs".

Same here.  I don't know how the lucky ones used Sonar X2, but for the things I do on a regular basis, there are bugs-a-plenty of this nature!

Did you make sure the clip didn't wind up in a muted take lane?

I'm still convinced these selection issues are due to the implementation of Touchscreen and Win8 support before the actual release of Win 8 and actually being able to fully test the touchscreen stuff with the final MS product (touch wasn't fully implemented until the "a" patch so that means they coded a bunch of stuff in preparation for it but how could they know how the final MS release was going to react... even MS had to release a patch).

It really should have been a skin. The A patch came out after the final release of 8 so I can only assume that those who had no problems at all were using Win8 and/or had superior graphics capabilities on their systems (like mid to high range graphics cards still supported by their manufacturers unlike the older Gigabyte card I have which is great for pretty much everything but may not be doing so well with touch integrated programs).

I really have no need for touch and frankly it woudl cause me physical pain to reach out and have to tweak things that way. I've also watched some vids where the guys were using it and it really does not even seem to be a very good or accurate way to work even under ideal conditions. Live? Sure, but in the studio my stationary trackball obliterates that touch madness.

It really should have been a skin that could be added to the program. Not jumbled right into the main code. I also think this is why we didn't get a patch. It would have been too much work to gut out the mess for a simple patch and they decided to focus on fixing these issues in X3... which is why I really wish they would release a stripped out version of X3 Pro for $50 to simply gives us disgruntled X2 users the patch we so desperately need.

FWIW, Win7 x64 and a generic 1GB graphics card here.   I would actually love a good touchscreen but it's beyond of my budget.

I THINK I narrowed it down to the ASIO drivers acting up. I disabled them and rebooted the computer.

Today... SO FAR... everything is working fine.

Except for the "SOLO - Flashing Tracks Visual Effect" syndrome this project has acquired. Can't figure that one out but it doesn't seem to cause any trouble so I'm putting up with it for now.
