Downgrading from X2a to X1d, seems odd ?

But i had it with you X2a , you going into the trash bin forever...... and ever...
and we will not meet again.
Sorry X2a you had your chance, you was to agressive and would not quite listen to what i had to tell you
now i will put my trust to your little brother X1d he is mutch nicer than you X2a, atleast he works with me :D

When your sister X3 grow up to be a fine and nice one, and have what is required
ill consider marry her, but only if i can afford her

Your Grandpa and Grandmother also father and mother served me well in the past day's.

Now young boy come here...  let's do some serious work buddy...

I suspect your issues with X2a were due to your system. You're running a fairly old PC, and I'm actually surprised you are successfully running Win 8 64bit with only 2GB Ram.

I bet i could run X3 good enought also, when bug's is fixed.
Hope they will put a demo download up sometime.

I had to abandon X2 and go back to X1 within a few days of getting X2. Never was stable - crashed all the time. X1 was fine. X3 seems to be fine. I have a powerhouse machine set up properly - definitely not the computer's fault.

Keeping my fingers crossed on X3, but so far so good.

I found X1d was more stable in a general sense (as in it didn't do freaky stuff every time you did something) but when it crashed it crashed HARD and more often. I've only had a few full on crashes with X2 and when they have happened I was able to reopen the program rather quickly (whereas with X1 I had to wait a while or reboot). I also found X1 to be a lot more difficult to use from a workflow standpoint. Stuff was in weird places and the lack of the zooming features in X2 just made it a pain to do stuff. It was awkward to me. As soon as I installed X2 it was like I instinctively knew where certain things were where with X1 I always had to refer to the manual or ask the forum to perform simple tasks.

BUT with X2 the fact that the screen does weird stuff, data does weird stuff, buttons and other functions seem to only work properly when they feel like it, etc makes it more of an annoyance than X1.

So what do I do? Use a program that isn't nearly as elegant for how I like to work and completely eats my system from time to time but in general responds to input and commands reliably or the one that is really AWESOME in theory and is perfect for my workflow but constantly throws little annoying obstacles in my way in what could be described as death by a thousand cuts?

Or the third option... throw money I don't have at a program that from early reports is nominally better but still exhibiting some of the annoying traits X2 did?

Quite the conundrum to pontificate.

This is sad Beep.  I can't guarantee a flawless X3 for you but so far X3b has been very solid for not just me but at least the vast majority. What I am saying is this version is superficially like the last but far better in a lot of small ways that add up to a big difference. Don't let the look of it seem the same as before.

CW has gotten it right for this release. I wish you could find a way to be a part of this.

Since I've been with her sister I think the answer is yes. She is an upgrade and I'd much
rather go in that direction.

john, please could you elaborate on your pc specs, and the sonar functionality you generally use? you seem to have a solid system, your posts are almost always "it works here" but with little extra info... i'm sure it would be useful to other forum users if you would share some insight, help us be a part of the "getting it right" :)
