Hello everyone,

Thank you for your help in advance.  I'm getting a new machine built by Jim at Studio Cat (can't wait!) and I have a question regarding the installation of Melodyne editor.  During X3 installation do I install the Melodyne essentials that comes with Sonar X3 and then install Melodyne editor?  Or do I say no to the essentials install?

Thanks again,

George

If you're already installing Editor anyway I would say press cancel when "Essential" install pops up.

Not cancel, but de-select the option when initiating the installation - do an "advanced" installation if I recall correctly. That was my situation - I had Melodyne Editor previously, I deselected the installation of Melodyne Essential with the X3 install, and it worked perfectly. X3 recognized Melodyne, it came up in the "Region Fx" menu, no license issues, etc.

Thanks Brando!  Did you install Melodyne editor, after the X3 install?  Melodyne support suggested that I install Sonar x3 first, and then editor.

In my case, I already had Melodyne Editor installed and had been using it as a VST in X2. I installed X3 afterward, and the install correctly identified Melodyne on my system -

Thanks again Brando.  I think I will install Melodyne first, and do what you did on your install.  Thanks!

Even if Melodyne Essentials got installed they are all the same software. It's you Melodyne licence that determines which features are unlocked so you should be ok either way. Install or don't, shouldn't matter.
