  • Does Izotope ever run specials on their RX ADVANCED package?

I bought the RX3 basic package, and it really is a lifesaver, especially for handling live recordings.  They have an "advanced" version that is a lot more money.  I don't need most of what is in Advanced, but there are a couple of features I would use.  Do they have a history of providing incentives for the basic users to upgrade?  I just can't pay that full difference for the amount I would use those features.

They had a special on it last month until the 27th, according to my email. So "yes" and "crap, looks like you just missed it". Dunno about upgrades, but all "specialist software" companies I've approached about that kind of thing have been really decent about it.

Do you recall what the price way for the Advanced?   Did they quote an upgrade from RX3 basic to RX3 Advanced?

No upgrade price quoted. Basic says 249, reg 349. Advanced 749, reg 1199. Email dated Sept 12th.

They wanted $499 for their limited time upgrade from RX2.

I'm a big fan of RX...however...even their "low low" price was way too rich for me.  I'm even pushing back on the $149 upgrade for RX3 basic...especially since SONAR and Melodyne muscled their way to the head of the line for my upgrade dollars.  After that, I'm afraid that WaveLab 8 will get the next cash chunk.

I do own a few of their products, and won't buy em till they are on offer (iris , ozone, alloy) .. like more .e.g. wave's like it or not they will have to cut their prices to get more custom..

wait till xmas time.. start saving your money.. and you'll find a sale either then or in January.. all pro audio companies that have any sense will do offers then . ( main reason I bought fabfilter's bundle :) )

That's where I am too.  RX3 is magic.  I bought it soon after they announced version 3, and I have used it quite a lot to clean up live recordings and to do other little touch-up jobs.  I hated to part with the $299, but the basic package has a lot of capability.  There is one feature in the Advanced package I would use heavily, which is the noise reduction that can separate tonal material from background noise.  I'd love to have that, but I'm not paying $700 for that.

I got RX3 for $208.50 instead of $249.00 at Plugin Discounts a month or so ago.

Come to think of it, I believe I got an introductory discount from the Izotope website.  But I haven't seen anything that would bring the Advanced upgrade into range.  That seems like a huge gap from the basic product to the advance one (list pricing $1200 vs. $350).  The Advanced product has great features, but a spread of over 300% ???

I guess they figure they can sell the Advanced product to TV stations and other larger businesses that have a lot more money than the average recording studio, let alone the average recording hobbyist.
