yes indeed

though, i'm still trying to figure out how much of it can be done from a CS and if it's worth the effort (or if there's nothing better than the mouse anyway)

Not had a chance to play around with comping yet, but looking forward to it.

Still working through Melodyne, the tape emulator and the Blue Tube stuff.

Loving it all so far.

I've used the comping. Helps to remember control space over just space. In general it's good. I've been left scratching my head a time or two as I try to mute clips in comp takes etc. It is definitely better than it was.

I waffled on Sonar a few months back, even looked at switching to a competitor but in the end I just know Sonar and couldn't get excited about the time I'd lose learning a new product.

Upgraded to X3 and boy was I glad of it this past weekend when I had to comp a lot of vocals!

Comping+Melodyne = best workflow I have ever seen for vocals. Super huge kudos to the bakers for this.

Sonar X3 have all the effects I need. I am reformatting my hard drive and use only X3's effect and Alloy2 plus Concrete Limiter. Don't see myself needing anything else.

Is Melodyne Essential really helpful for vocals (because the formant tool is not included) ?

I honestly don't use the formant tool a whole lot, but I did take their deal (until the 16th) to full Editor (149), because I wanted the timing tool and the pitch drift and modulation tools.
