Ive been using Cakewalk products since PA9.. When Sonar X series came out.. I was very critical..and in my mind..justifiably so.. It was a shock to the system and very unstable. I was highly disappointed as I felt they had taken a very robust and strong DAW and weakened it.. But I always wanted to see and said so on this forum that I wished the bakers all the best and hoped it would get better...
I still have some small criticisms - Still not crazy about only being able to view two sends at a time in the CV..seems like a waste of screen real estate to me and the Waves shell is problematic (i get lots of License not found errors and I cant seem to rescan inside the program).. along with UAD issues. I also cant use automap for some reason.
I believe all of those issues will be fixed in time as I think some if not most of that is on others to correct.
But man...I got to give it up -
THIS THING IS BEAST MODE!!!.. I love, love, love the stability - You guys have really put your nose to the grindstone with this one. I can tell and feel the amount of work that went in under the hood of this version. The color customization is great for an old guy like me

.. The automation and take lanes are much, much better. The program is snappy.. vst scanning is a breeze (sans Waveshell and automap) and I am learning to really, really like screensets..although.. a global option would be cool :)
I loaded a cut this morning with 62 tracks, 14 busses, 8 External inserts, gobs of plugs and laid in tons of automation,, I have loaded this same cut in three different programs and they all "coughed up a lung"... X3(b) "looked at me like" ..
that all you got??.. X3 didn't even breath hard!!
You guys deserve big kudos for this one.. started rough with "X".. but you bakers are cookin the good stuff again from what I can tell so far....
Well done guys, Well done!
