I listened to the Soundcloud version and all I can say is- I can't find any crits to make!!  Fantastic job Dan. Loved your ending.  Mix sounds perfect on my computer speakers.  Really liked the strings.  OK... maybe the brass could use a hint of reverb...there.  LOL  I'll have to learn what an ebow is....

Nice job!

Really nice, Dan.  Pretty melodies and song structure/arrangement. The mix is big, clear and wide open.  You really do have a knack for getting lots of elements to mix together with great clarity.   Love the nylon string guitar.

Thanks Steve! Lots of practice pays off, lol. The mix may be a little dense, but I do like it that way.

Dan

Thank you Tony! I usually have the opposite problem and use too much reverb.

Hi Dan,

I really enjoyed listening to After the Long Dark Winter. Such a beautiful and uplifting instrumental. Composition and production was top notch as far as I'm concerned.

Nice to hear the Ebow... I must dust mine off... Might need a new battery by now haha

cheers

This is cool.  Nice stuff in there. I think the BC version does sound better too.

This would be fun to jam on guitar ....

I enjoyed it.

Thanks Andy! The ebow is pretty cool, but I don't know how to use it well enough so I can get it to do other sounds besides the standard "ebow" sound, lol. Glad you enjoyed the song!

Nice piece of music. I guess I missed it originally, but I heard it today on Soundcloud. I'm glad I did, it's a very nice sounding song and fit my mood perfectly today.

Dan,

Beautiful work, really enjoyable music.   I don't even listen for problems in your mixes anymore, they don't exist;)  You are definitely making some hay with those SSL plugs.

Thank you Mark! I still find that I will occasionally EQ myself into a corner. On a mix I am working on right now, I spent 2 hours last night simply bypassing the plugins on each track to find something that sounded odd, but I couldn't quite put my finger on. Turned out to be two tracks that I had made stupid EQ decisions on when I worked on the mix way longer than I should have last weekend. The things we do...

Dan
