I wonder if we're getting DDOS'd... or maybe with the influx of newcomers over the past year or so the servers are getting overloaded with extra lurker traffic.

Either way... mayhaps time the Bakers/Admins see what's up and if necessary rent some extra server space (because I don't think this is being hosted at Cake headquarters).

Meh.

yes this has been happening for a while now, it first started with the coffee house where it would take forever to load and then that message, then occasionally on other sub forums, but mainly the coffee house.

WOW I guess I'm not alone with this issue

This has been happening to me for about a month consistently just about every day multiple times ...
I had no idea this was happening to everybody here ...

At least we now have it out in the open ...

I'm curious , another odd thing has been going on ,
I have had it happen when after I post a post ( in any section ) of the forum where I get bumped off the forum and my wifi gets shut down temporarily ...
That one has been happening on and off for about the past week ...
Has that happened to anyone else here  ?

Many years ago, I worked in an office where blame was very important. Most meetings were consumed with assigning blame or arguing about assigning it. All of our problems were solved one day by a developer in IT (Data Processing at the time). He volunteered to take the blame. That's right. Whatever the situation might be and whoever might actually be at fault, Tom would take the blame. He was careful to point out that he would not accept any responsibility for the problem nor would he be responsible for the solution, but he would willingly and happily accept the blame. From that time forward, whenever a problem was encountered (approximately every 30 seconds), Tom would accept the blame and life would go on.

Wherever he is now and whatever he's doing today, we can all rest easy when the forum software eats its own head. We can blame Tom.

Don't you feel better?

Weird. I've been having weird wifi dropouts for a looong time now and just thought the network card on my laptop was dying. Never thought it could be from this forum.

It just drops out and I have to use the "Function" keybinding to turn it off and back on again. Then everything is fine.

It's annoying as hell.
