No... Those of us without internet access are unable to install it.

No...I'm just saying what a great deal X3 is and the people who are not getting the AD that comes with X3 are really losing out and should reconsider.

If people are avoiding internet connectivity wanting to keep their' DAW clean, I don't understand... If you have a machine connected and don't do any browsing... Only installs and registering of legit soft wares... With a firewall up I've not experienced a problem in many years (knock wood) with no anti-virus installed on the DAW!

I imagine there are some without any internet and some with dial up or limited access (such as I have with satellite)... But even dial up will work for registering and such.... We just can't download the software...

That's the boat I'm in Keni. I don't have internet at my house at all.

Well that's your choice. I'm paying a good buck for dsl at my house and I feel I'm getting my money's worth. I gave up cable so I could have internet access. So I have to rely on an old fashioned tv antenna and whatever stations I can pick up for tv viewing.

The alternative would be for them to include the AD program on a set of dvd's included in the boxed version at additional expense. People are already squawking about the $29.99 box set price. Tack on an additional $20-30 bucks and no one would buy it. They are trying hard to keep their costs down, and I appreciate that.

Connecting my music computer to the internet involves dragging my tower 5km or so down the road and connecting it to someones internet. Otherwise it is 30 metric dollars per Gb offa my cell phone and I might be able to download something like Addictive Drums in about 4 days. I like XLN Audio's products well enough, and the install of it I did down the road  a year ago is working great, I can't really give them any more business under this new scheme. I hope that this kind of distribution of software is not becoming pervasive.

I was trying to be lighthearted :/

FWIW, this is the response we received from XLN regarding offline installation:

You can find information on how to install Addictive Drums on an offline computer here:
http://www.xlnaudio.com/support-knowledge_base-offline_installation_of_addictive_drums

Please note that you will not be able to get the latest version of Addictive Drums via offline install. The only noticeable differences between 1.5.2 and 1.5.7 is that 1.5.7 includes a standalone application and AAX support (only relevant if you are running Pro Tools 11). You will also not be able to install the latest two ADpaks (Black Velvet and Vintage Dry), nor any future ADpaks.

So it sounds like you're not completely out of luck. Out of curiosity, is internet connectivity not available in the region where you live?
