In fact, you don't even have to go to this trouble.

... but for drums ... it doesn't matter how long the individual drums hit are

That is why in the original thread, one solution was to use the drum pane (and a drum map).

Using FInd/Replace, you don't even have to enter any values on the first screen.  Select the range, go to Find/Replace, hit ALL on the first screen, and on the second screen hit ALL and then put a value (like 10 or 60) in each of the duration boxes.

Also, isnt' there a quantize on entry?  I have a vague memory of something like that.

True, if you don't mind changing all the events. In this case it probably doesn't matter.

Thanks again for all of the suggestions. That's why I love Sonar. It's a great DAW and the members are ready to help others in need.
In my my original thread I was sort of barking up the wrong tree. I was discussing the fact that midi note durations should never be a zero duration, but i've been told that zero is indeed a legal duration for midi notes. This thread is more of an, ok if that is indeed the case can we get length and quantize to work on them as they do with other DAW's. I'm not familiar with the event inspector, find/replace, and have only touched base on cal scripts so I still have much much much more to learn.
