Hi folks,

can anyone confirm if you can reproduct the snap issues I'm having in X3b ?.

1) The magnetic strength appears to be "Full On" regardless of the setting.
Lowering the strength setting doesn't have any effect at all.

2) Cannot "Snap By", changinf the setting to "Snap By" has no effect, it still "Snap To".

Thats both editing Midi in the PRV, and clips in the Track view.

Running Win7/64 and X3b/64

Driver error :-)

It's a bit different to X2 ... and I'm really tired, so it took me by surprise.
Time for some sleep me thinks.

I am seeing the "full on" snap in the track view with clips, but not in the PRV with MIDI.  It seems to work there as expected.

I'll have a play around when I get time, in case there is a setting I have missed, and look at the "snap by" as well.

Edit - In what way driver error?

Aha, you're correct - I just tried again and in the track view, magnetic strength seems to be full on and not adjustable.
Snap By seems to work OK in both TV and PRV.
I'll have another play tomorrow, after some sleep, and log a PR if it's not just me :-)

Driver error ... I meant me being "The Driver" ... not fit for behind the wheel !.

I was just playing around with this and it seems to be working fine on my end.  Do you have a step by step you could send me?

Thinking about it whilst doing the school run, I guess that's the behaviour you would want/expect.

In the PRV you may want to move notes near the grid, instead of on, whereas in the track view one would always want a clip to either move on to the grid 100%, or, in the case of "snap by", relative to the grid.

Hence the snap settings only affect the PRV.  Don't know why I didn't think of that when I first posted - sleep depravation, I expect.
