It happened again but I noticed I was using Session Drummer and going back and forth between sequencer and track view

The Pause/Break key makes the marker move smoothly v ju,ping one beat at a time.
The computer scroll key makes the project scroll or not.

A quick search reaveals that the Now Time marker has been disappearing on and off since at least 2009.
 
So BMOG, what version/patch of Sonar are you using ?
