For some reason, GPO uses mod wheel to control volume and on their website

they say to control volume,
"It is always best to record Mod Wheel data at the beginning of every MIDI sequence track in order to start with the correct initial volume."

But where do you record mod wheel data? :( I tried in prv and added Wheel and tried changing but it doesn't change mod wheel in GPO...

Can somebody help? I'd really appreciate it.
PS: ah and I use Aria player so I don't think switch option to disable mod wheel for volume control

I believe that the mod wheel is CC1 on most keyboards--so you might want to start there.

How are you writing your parts?  Are you using a keyboard controller?

I use the event view to put in the initial volume change. Are you using blank measures at the very beginning of your song? I always make sure I have at least one blank measure at the very beginning. The first beat of the first measure is when any DAW or keyboard sequencer sends out the data to setup playback for all the instruments. That measure gives Sonar enough time to send whatever setup commands it needs to perform the song. Many of us have found that if you are using a lot of VST instruments or even outboard hardware instruments some DAWs will choke on too many commands going out on that first beat.
Also, do you see the wheel changes in the event view? If you do and there is no change then there is something wrong. I never really liked the Mod Wheel for Volume feature but I got used to it. Could be wrong channel. Have you checked your filter settings to make sure that your track is set to record that type of data? Several things to choose from.
I see you haven't posted many times so I will take it that you are fairly knowledgeable about Sonar. I use GPO 4 and JABB myself. Try troubleshooting the things I touched on. I will watch for your response and maybe I can help. Good Luck!

The PRV can let draw in the mod wheel movements with the mouse. I also use the Event list to insert an initial cc 1 event at the top. This will set your volume as you like.

I do a lot of midi work but I'm no expert. Do you have any idea what I could do?
How would you check the filters? Do you mean event filters?
