Not good English... I know...

But I see there is already an X3b yet after months of complaining and suffering an X2b patch was never released...

I'm very glad for all the X3 owners... and One day I hope to be one of them...

But it makes me very sad to be stuck with X2 as it is... <sigh>...

Sorry if the post is in bad taste... I'm not feeling well...

Don't fret good sir. The hype is strong, but give it at least a few months.  X2 demonstrated that Cakewalk has no problem abandoning an incomplete release without explanation.  Do you realize how long we awaited/expected X2b, yet were told nothing, even though they never planned on releasing an X2b?

Clearly, every Baker is working their tails off now, but they are running on X3 launch adrenaline.  Humans burn out quickly at this pace.  With appropriate staffing and management, X3 could be the turnaround they desperately need.  But give it time.

Plus, you can probably get a better deal on X3 in the future, to self-compensate for your X2 troubles.  At the very least, wait for an X3 trial to be available.

Hey we all go through it at one point or another. I've lost count of how many upgrade cycles I've ended up missing for one reason or another (usually money, or because I bought an earlier version without knowing a new one was imminent). Not just software but phones too....every time I've upgraded my phone a hot new model comes out a month or so later. And then of course everyone's raving about the new version and you feel bad.

Plus...give it time...I seem to remember a "honeymoon period" after X2 as well, when everyone was raving about it, before the problems started showing themselves. Not wanting to be too pessimistic because I've had a good experience with X3 so far, but you know how these things work lol......

I have really only one niggle with X2. My latency was not near as good as in X1 for whatever reason. Other than that I have been very happy with X2a. Now with the new toys in X3 it feels like, "WOW, look at all the neat stuff to play with!" That kind of thinking is not healthy when it comes to actually making music. Maybe there are some settings that you missed to get what you want from X2.
Just keep in mind that these software programs didn't even exist when a lot of our classic and best songs were recorded. You have a lot of horsepower in whatever DAW you choose to use. Use it to the best of your ability. That way when you CAN afford X3, or Pro Tools, or Cubase, etc. You will have plenty of songs to port over into your newest workstation.
To me, it's really about making music. Not about having the latest and greatest toys and spending more time playing with them than actually making the music.
That said, I will probably update to X3 in another couple of weeks. I usually let the dust settle and watch the forum closely to see just what is happening for about a month before I jump. Meanwhile, turn on X2a and get to work! :)

I'm right there with you Keni. I have to buy other stuff and X3 hasn't gone through the initial "oooh... aaawwww" phase yet so it's a little early to know whether it will indeed be an improvement over what I already have. I was personally keeping an eye on the Audiosnap portion and whether the selection/graphical issues had been sorted out. Audiosnap wasn't updated but supposedly it's behaving a little better (likely due to general stability improvements which is what I was hoping for with an X2b patch). I know at least one fellow has encountered the selection bug but it seemed to be manifesting itself a little differently and he was able to get the project out of the corruption spiral (which was not possible before). Haven't heard any complaints about graphical glitches but that could be that people are just used to them however some people seem to be saying the program seems a little sturdier/less breakable so that's good news. I always found it funny while watching the webinars or other tutorials that those wacky graphical bugs would pop up. Even on the best systems being used to promo the product they couldn't keep them at bay.

Anyway, I've said all this before and it's probably not making me any friends but I wanted to let you know you are not alone. Good luck with whatever you end up doing. Cheers.

An X3b isn't too surprising.  X2b was released only a few months after X2.  It will be interesting to see if there's an X3c and d, or if Cake will release one update and move onto X4.

As far as I know there never was an X2b?

I think Cakewalk has said they're planning an X3c. But I'm kind of in a happy place with X3b right now.

If they bring out X4 next week and it's as much of an upgrade over X3 as X3 was over X2 I'm still getting it.
