The question you got ask yourself is, do I really need 32 threads? CADCAM, 3d modelling, photoshop all paired with GPU computing then yes. Sonar perhaps. Some VST's use one thread per process and others can split their usage throughout others.
I think where Intel excel are they are also the hardware partner for Apple, so no matter how hard AMD try they won't capture all of the potential market. We will see various tech demos over the months. However I want to see real world tests like how well does it handle CPU generated effects without DSP from external hardware. Secondly how well does it handle running more than one operating system at the same time using virtualisation. Really we don't need to know whether it can spawn another extra 15 fps in Doom or The Witcher.
