I have not done any research yet but, I wonder if someone could keep their existing 5.5.3 setup and existing 3rd party libs as is and if some 3rd party lib eventually comes out that requires 5.6 they could just install the 5.6 player and it wouldn't screw with anything else?

Looks like a few other things have changed. I was just using Vintage Organs and the keyswitches don't show up on the virtual keyboard. They just have the "out of range" black colouring. I will investigate tomorrow.

That's what all the above posts are about Glyn,

They have taken the Key Colors away and placed "Small blurbs" in color above the keys...

None of us are too happy about it...
No, this is different. The blobs are there for the regular keys but their is no indication of the keyswitches in any shape or form, I have seen somewhere that the Scarbee basses are also effected. Evil Dragon knows why, but I need to re-read his post.

On mine the Key Switches have Red indicators above the keys...so not quite sure what you are referring to...

Its an odd one. I have just tried it again, in Stand Alone, in Komplete Kontrol and in Sonar. The factory presets I tested seem to be fine, my own NKI's have the problem. I dont have much time to do more at the moment but I am hoping sesaving the custom NKI's in 5.6 will resolve the issue.

Have the default loading parameters changed or has the progress indicator for K 5.6 just gone missing?

I see Sonar projects which are unresponsive @ open for a long time (like application would have hung) to suddenly appear with all K5 samples already loaded (whereas previously it came up quickly and you could work Sonar already while K5 samples were still being loaded)

Go into Settings -> Load/Import and uncheck the "Load samples in background" option.

Well, after updating and reverting, now a lot of my third party libraries won't load because NI decided to update them as well when I updated to 5.6.

I have resolved the Vintage Organs issue, sort of. I found that only one of my custom NKI's seemed to be affected. Resaving it from 5.6 did not help, there was no key switch rendering. So I recreated it from the original factory patch and that works.

It was my "clean" B3 patch with all the rotor disabled, no drive and DI selected for cabinate. This is my most used one as I will put it through Melda MVintageRotary or LX122. I suspect it was created before some up date to either Kontakt of Vintage Organs.

Wonderful! hopefully you have backups, if so you probably only have copy the old NKI over the modified one.

Apparently it's a project issue. I have multi-backup on so I can revert it and it's only for the project I opened using 6.5 but it speaks mountains to the sloppy coding that NI does in Kontakt. I'd hope that NI would be a little more professional about how they release their products and addressing issues but they've been keeping quiet which is ridiculous. I really hope more library developers start considering using Falcon instead of Kontakt soon.
