OK, everybody.  I think I finally figured it out.  Earlier, I had broken up the vocal track into sections by splitting them in order to be able to work on short segments.  I then highlighted the short clip and opened up V-Vocal under Region FX.  Like I said, it did call it up, but with no pitch correction.  Then, I thought, maybe I should just drag the cursor across a section of the audio as if it were an unbroken, unsegmented track.  Voila!  It works.  So, it looks as if all I have to do is merely highlight the section with the mouse, choose Region FX and invoke V-Vocal and it WORKS!  Thanks to those who assisted me with this problem!

I had this very problem the 1st few days of working with X3.
(also broke my v-vocal)
What fixed my system, was an odd sequence of trying (comparing)  Melodyne 2.1.1
and Sonar`s X3 essentials version.

1st.  Deactivating Melodyne2.1.1.
2nd.  Trying Sonar essentials, another re-license moment
going thru the licensing at Melodyne
3rd.  Then deactivating X3`s Melodyne  essentials,
4th. Then re-activiting 2.1.1 Melodyne again.
(repete as necesary?)
I may have done this a few tries, It`s works now for me

Both v-vocal and Melodyne 2.1.1 are running fine for me.
I use both in every project, but with the lastest Melodyne integration,
I probably be using a lot less of v-vocal.

This Fixed my X2 v-vocal crashing also.

Good luck,
Don Belisle

Don, thanks for the advice and tips.  I think I have it sorted out finally, thanks to Noel who started me on the path to the solution of the problem.  I, too, like to use both.  I never saw the Melodyne Essential version upon install since it detected my Melodyne Editor v2.1.1, so it did not get installed.  It's just that I'm so used to using V-Vocal over the years that it was hard for me to give it up outright.  I have caught on to Melodyne Editor lately and I will eventually gravitate over to it full time.  Thanks again.
