I just fired up X3b and got the message that no MIDI outputs have been selected. When the preferences page opened, my Saffire was no longer on the MIDI device list. Anyone ever experience this?

I haven't jumped to X3 yet but... that makes me nervous about doing so!

I haven't had any problems with my Saffire 40 in X3a or X3b.  Knock on wood.  It doesn't help the OP, but it might make Chuck feel a little calmer.

Thanks for responding Dale... About to take the plunge myself. Glad to hear your pro40 is up to the task. I still really like mine.
To the OP... post back when you get it figured out. I'm curious what's up.
Thx, V

I have a Saffire Pro 14.

No problems.

My setup:

Firewire VIA 6315N (standard Window 8 driver 6.2.9200.16384)
Firewire Focusrite Saffire Pro 14 (driver 4.1.2.16632) (MixControl 3.2)

I contacted Focusrite. I'll let you know what I find out.

Okay, I figured it out. While optimizing Windows, I turned off Windows Audio under msconfig. Why that affects my MIDI in Saffire I'll never know. Turned it back on and my MIDI is back. Thanks for the responses!

Yeah, it was driving me crazy. I think I just had too many things going on at once. While I was trying to solve my pops and clicks issue, I noticed that X3b came out. Hoping that would solve my problem I installed it, not realizing the MIDI was already gone.
