Thankyou for all your help. Just one last question

My main goal is to be a voice over, I have a Samson CO1U mic which was bundled with the X1 LE software.

Im also interested in the Cakewalk Music Creator 6 (which is around the same price as the X3 upgrade) as Id like to mix/create music in my spare time. Will the music creator or my current X1 LE be enough for my voice over work or would you still suggest the entry level X3 ?

Thankyou again.

Hi Diceis- I started with Sonar LE too, when I bought an edirol audio card a few years ago. You get so many tools when you upgrade to a paid version that you ask yourself "why didn't I do this before".

The new X3 is in my opinion the best Sonar yet and the best DAW i have ever used.

Get the entry level Sonar rather than MC6 I would say. But if you do choose to get MC6 get it on steam (wait for a sale)

Hi Dicesis,

MC6 was $17US on Steam not too long ago. Just got to wait for it come around again!

Coming from SONAR X1 LE is going to be a pretty massive upgrade. It would cost you $49 to go to the base version, SONAR X3. You'll get all the new core workflow features and technologies plus 12 instruments and 27 effects, 64-bit engine and unlimited tracks, send, FX, etc.. SONAR X3 Studio gives you even more for $149 with the ProChannel and 2 modules, the Blue Tubes and of course ARA integration and Melodyne Essential. I'm bias but it's definitely worth looking at the upgrade.

Music Creator 6 Touch is great too and perfect for beginners but for the $49, you will find SONAR X3 to be way more powerful. Just my opinion.

Not that I don't want you to buy more stuff...but you won't need MC6 with SONAR X3. I'd save the money and get some video tutorials or maybe something else you might need with X3. I hope you enjoy SONAR X3!

Ok, thanks.
How many loops/midi's are included with x3 if any, as MC6 has over 1000.

...or instead, just go up to Studio for $100.00 since it also has Melodyne, more FX and ProChannel.  Also, check your X1 LE download page...you may also have the MP3 Encoder.  It will also work on X3.
