Hi folks, new music for 2015:

https://soundcloud.com/prodigalsounds/working-the-paradigm-shift

This will be the opening track of my next album. Recorded entirely with SONAR X3 and finished up with SONAR 2015 PLATINUM.

Cakewalk-related tools would include Dimension Pro strings; all the compressors, reverbs, delays, and EQ would be the Sonitus suite.

Blimey... This takes me back a bit

I hate making comparisons but I'm thinking Yes and ELP for starters. Or IQ perhaps?

Excellent stuff

That bass guitar on your website, Agile Defiant... never seen the like before...

This one is probably more The Who meets 80's King Crimson  :-)
But I also use a VST that does a dead ringer imitation of Emerson's GX-1...

yea...i really dug this tune...really grabbed me right out the gate...very nice work and so interesting. Felt a bit of ELP in there...the snare sound isn't really working for me but that's a small nit in a very cool tune.

loved the lead...

A++ man good job!

Yep, very cool tune. Loved the vocals when they introed. Really nice work.

This is one of the best tunes I've heard here for a while.  I got a bit of Rush and KC from this.  In spite of its length, I could have listened all day.  OK, that might be an exaggeration, but I was held captive.

Fantastic.  The KC influence is immediately obvious and then some Yes in the vocal parts.  Love the breaks.

Searched for you guys online and found this (for everybody's benefit):

Who are The Prodigal Sounds?
Take one part Kevin Gilbert; and one part Thomas Dolby. Add a generous dash of Mike Oldfield's guitar and Emerson's keyboards. Sprinkle with Tony Levin's tasty bass playing. Let it simmer for two decades.
From this broth we drank heavily, whilst recording these eight songs and six instrumentals.
Side 2 could be considered as a single, continuous suite of thematically related music.
This is the Fruit of the Steel Tree, our first album. Enjoy!

Hey, thanks Guys! I appreciate the good words.

Let me say that this forum is always a good place to dip into periodically when I'm looking for different music to listen to... you're all great.

Really excellent song and production. At low level, all is good. At high level, the upper mids are a bit harsh on my side. It might be the syballance and cymbals. When you master, this can be easily handled if you think there is an issue.
The overall presentation is great. You guys have a lot more patience than I with undertaking a song like this.
Keep up the good work.
