Yes, there are people in contact regarding a few Sweetwater system related topics (distributing codes etc.). I'll bring this up again.

Well, the are making some progress, they now have an option for the X2 Pro to X3 Pro for $149, but it looks like it is for a boxed version.

Is there any other online retailer who is supposed to offer Sonar X3 upgrade downloads? I haven't found one other that Sweetwater, and of course the Cake Store....

How exactly do you demonstrate ownership of the qualifying product to get the lower upgrade price from distributors like Sweetwater? It is tempting to just order the box, instead of doing the download if the price is comparable. Unless you had to have it yesterday, of course.

I would imagine that there is no restriction on purchasing. My guess is that it asks for your existing serial when you install and checks online for registration - If it doesn't match up, you're boned and just wasted $150....

Just contacted my sales rep at Sweetwater (Derek Senestraro if you need one), and was able to get the electronic download version of the Sonar X2 Producer to Sonar X3 Producer upgrade for $149 on my Sweetwater account. No problem at all, could not have been any quicker or easier. Already halfway through my download!

Here is a link to purchase from Sweetwater. I believe they will be offering new customers the ability to download as well.

easy.. they check with cakewalk..or their local distro. it's a bit like santa knowing if ya good or bad ;-)

speaking of boxed versions one of the UK biggies is still listing sonar x1 and x2 and no sight of x3 (digital village)

I'd rather buy / support a local shop.

In the UK you can buy it new as a download from Plugin Boutique. We just shipped X3 last week so will be a little lag time in getting products to Europe and then on the shelves.

does seem only to be full versions listed , not upgrades @ plugin boutique = no use to me.
